Tra Pescara e L’Aquila per riscoprire il tuo albero genealogico

L’itinerario “Mari e Monti” ti offre un’esperienza avvincente iniziando con la visita al Museo delle Genti d’Abruzzo e alla Casa Museo di D’Annunzio di Pescara, centro turistico nevralgico di tutta la Regione. Gli archivi del Museo conservano una vasta collezione di documenti, fotografie e testimonianze orali, permettendoti di esplorare dettagliatamente le tue origini familiari grazie alla messa a disposizione di esperti genealogisti appositamente per la ricostruzione della tua storia genealogica.

Nel pomeriggio, Pescara si svela come una città vibrante sulla costa adriatica, con spiagge dorate, patrimonio storico e una vivace scena culinaria. La città è rinomata per la sua cucina, con ristoranti lungo il mare e trattorie nel centro che servono specialità regionali.

La giornata si conclude con la degustazione degli arrosticini di Villa Celiera, simbolo gastronomico dell’Abruzzo, celebrati dalla comunità locale attraverso festività e eventi enogastronomici. Un modo autentico di scoprire la tradizione culinaria e le radici della tua Regione di origine.

 

Nel secondo giorno, vivrai esperienze uniche in Abruzzo: la visita a Rocca Calascio, uno dei castelli più belli d’Italia, con panorami spettacolari sull’Appennino e con un passato cinematografico notevole. Nel pomeriggio, a Navelli, parteciperai ad un workshop dedicato allo zafferano pensato appositamente per il Viaggiatore delle Radici, raccogliendo i fiori e imparando la “sfioratura” per separare i pistilli. La giornata culminerà in un delizioso pranzo in Agriturismo, completando un’esperienza indimenticabile tra paesaggi mozzafiato e le meraviglie culinarie dell’Abruzzo.

 

Il terzo ed ultimo giorno dell’itinerario si apre con la visita alla Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta di Bominaco, tesoro medievale di fede e arte sacra. Gli affreschi del XIII secolo narrano storie bibliche, un viaggio visivo nel passato inaspettato e poco conosciuto. La mattinata terminerà con la visita alle Grotte di Stiffe, sito geologico dal fascino millenario immerso nel Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso. Guidato attraverso paesaggi sotterranei incredibili, potrai ammirare stalattiti e stalagmiti uniche. Dulcis in fundo del viaggio la visita alla Basilica di Collemaggio, simbolo di fede ma anche di un intero popolo, ancor di più unito dopo il terremoto del 2009 che distrusse parte del sito, da poco riaperto al pubblico in tutta la sua bellezza ed ora ancora più prezioso. La Basilica di Collemaggio, cuore de L’Aquila, Italia, è l’apice ideale per un tour delle radici. Costruita nel XIII secolo, incarna la maestosità dell’architettura romanica abruzzese. Collemaggio rappresenta un toccante ritorno alle radici, completando il tour con un omaggio alla fede e alle origini culturali in un ambiente sacro.

"To the proud Abruzzo": face to face with Gabriele D'Annunzio.

Continue the morning with a visit to D’Annunzio’s House Museum. For roots travelers, this experience offers an opportunity to connect with Italy’s cultural roots through the life and works of one of the country’s greatest writers who, through his writings and history, stands as a storyteller of the 20th century and thus also of the events that involved our ancestors.

At the end of the visit, rich lunch in the provincial capital and afternoon of relaxation in the city center, with possible transfers to the nearby towns of Francavilla al Mare or Montesilvano.

You will end the first day of the itinerary with a culinary stop not to be missed by those who choose to come to Abruzzo: an arrosticini dinner! In Villa Celiera, the preparation of arrosticini is a practice handed down from generation to generation, to the point that multiple sources point to this small town of less than a thousand inhabitants as the true home of this historic dish.

The Castle of Dreams: Rocca Calascio

For this second day of the itinerary you will change scenery and province, moving from the province of Pescara to that of L’Aquila. The day begins with a visit to one of the Region’s landmarks, loved and appreciated all over the world, the fabulous castle of Rocca Calascio. A not-to-be-missed stop for nature and history lovers, the castle sits at an elevation of more than 1,400 meters and affords a unique view of the Apennines. The castle boasts a history rooted in the 10th century, and in its recent history it has also been the film set for some important and award-winning films such as “The Name of the Rose,” “Ladyhawke,” “The Americans,” and others.
