ANCIENT FAIR OF SAN TOMASO

The Ancient Fair of San Tomaso is over a hundred years old and has roots dating back to 1200, it takes place annually, on the second Sunday of September, along the course of the Adige; in ancient times the place where the festival takes place was a Free Port for goods transported along the Adige from Venice.
A historical study is underway to give a certain date of its origins.
This research will be published and will be published
presented during the Fair with a specially dedicated conference.
The Fair has enjoyed the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Province of Verona for years.

8.30 p.m. opening conference of the Fair organized in collaboration with the Provincial Federation of Coldiretti of Verona

Friday 6/9

7.00 p.m. Evening of the Reception of Bonavigo Emigrants or their descendants
8.00 p.m. presentation of the study on the historical roots of the Ancient Fair of San Tomaso by Lorenzo Saggioro in the corner dedicated to the Roots Workshops
9.00 p.m. Musical Ensemble

Saturday 7/9

10.00 a.m. Exhibition of agricultural machinery
7.00 pm Opening of food and wine stands
8.00 p.m. Inauguration of the exhibition with photos of native families of Orti, of our courtyards with an exhibition of household equipment / furnishings and / or antique kitchen accessories that make you relive your family history in your memory
8.30 p.m. Night demonstration of ploughing with vintage tractors
9.30 p.m. Musical Ensemble

Sunday 8/9

Visit to a furniture restoration workshop to get a taste of the old days

The event will be an opportunity for commercial activities to increase their business by positioning their stands, at no cost for the occupation of public land, to promote and sell their products and services, creating new opportunities for youth or female employment.
The emigrants present may be encouraged to undertake business relations with the companies present The events that are organized during the year represent forms of eco-sustainable and responsible tourism as using local products at km0 are avoided, the landscape is protected and enhanced.
